Stock Management and Control - Introduction

In this section we are going to look at managing and controlling your stock lists. Although TOPS is not stock control software as such, it contains many useful features of such software, and we are planning to build a full stock control system in the near future. Our software at present contains the core features that you will need for your order processing, and can readily assist you with your stock management and control.

We shall see how you can view your stock list and add and edit items within that list. You will find all sorts of valuable features, such as the ability to distinguish between your purchase cost of a stock item and the price you are selling at, with a system which calculates on this basis, what your markup is. You will also find that you can enter a code for the supplier of each stock item, and a commodity code which you will require if you are importing goods from outside the EU.

The way to get to the stock management and control section of TOPS is easy. Simply click on the "Manage Lists" link from the top menu and then select "Manage Stock Items".
