In this section we are going to look at the business of managing customer relationships. TOPS is a customer-centric system, and thus before we begin processing orders, we need to identify the customer who is placing the order, add him or her to our database if he or she is new, and review his or her previous order history if he or she is an existing customer. Having done that we can begin to process his or her order. An order without a customer is meaningless to TOPS!
