Customer Management - Search Screen

The very first screen you arrive at when you log-in to TOPS is the Manage Customers Search Screen. Because TOPS is a highly customer-orientated system, the first screen you are presented with leads you directly to your customers. Suppose someone has called you on the telephone. You want to find them on your system. Simply enter their name in the box and click on the "search" button. You also have the option to search by other criteria but the system defaults to a customer search. The table of search options shows you how to conduct searches by customer id, by giftee, by popstcode, order number and order date. If for example, you want to search by order date, preface your search with date:.

If you are unsure of the spelling you can use "wildcard" searches. Here you use an asterisk to denote a character or characters you are unsure of. For example, if you are searching for someone with a name that sounds like "Johnson" but the spelling might be different, you can enter "Johns*on*", which allows for variants such as "Johnstone" and "Johnston".

Of course, if you are new to TOPS you may not yet have any customers in the system to search for! If you so, you may begin by entering your customer data using the "New Customer" button on the right. (We can import your customer data for you, but if you are experimenting with the trial version you will probably want to begin by adding new customers to the system.)
